Our morning began as usual with an assortment of fresh bread coated in some really good peach jam which is my personal favorite, and a cup of hot tea. Italian class was good, but this time we did 3 hours straight without our meal in between like normal, so it got a bit testy towards the end. Lunch was raviolli with some meat and something else in it, and roast beef.
After lunch I did some laundry on Italian machines, so I had to take a dictionary down there to translate. Then we had our first studio class,, it looks like first we are going to be doing some research, and then we have two projects this semester. One in a vertical building style and one in a horizontal. We can choose two different paths as well, a more structural course or one emphasizing art and history. We will be working in pairs this semester, but no two undergrads or landscape students can be paired together, so I'll be working with either a landscape or a grad, which I am pretty excited about, it should be a great learning experience for me, being the less experienced of the two. We visited our first site today, which I already got some ideas about, and the views from it are amazing. I mean we discuss good view in America vs. bad ones, but seriously there is not one bad view from our site! Anyway, we will see how things unfold.
For dinner we had fish, some kind of bread thingy, and green beans for those of you who are curious as to our diet here in Genova. We have been getting into this movie night thing, so we might be up for another one right now,,, after we have all had our fill of peanut butter (a stash from the US) and smiley faced chocolate cookies. Bennissimo! Caio!
